HOSPICE BRAZOS VALLEY OFFERING ALZHEIMER’S, DEMENTIA SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS VIA CONFERENCE CALL

Hospice Brazos Valley is offering a support group via conference call for caregivers of people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

Support group meetings are held every Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., and are free and open to anyone who may benefit from participating.

Bereavement Coordinator Debra Johnson said COVID-19 has made the already-difficult job of caregiving even more challenging, and hopes these meetings can provide caregivers with practical help and emotional support.

Participants will receive a weekly reading by email about an aspect of dementia.  The group will discuss the reading at the meeting and will talk about any issues caregivers may be facing.  Those who do not have email to receive the readings will have other arrangements made for them.

To learn more, or to receive the call-in information for the meetings, email Johnson at djohnson@hospicebrazosvalley.org, or call 979-314-3916.
