BLINN BOARD TO CONSIDER ADOPTION OF 2020-21 BUDGET, UPGRADES TO DREYER FIELD
The Blinn Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday to consider adoption of the budget and stipends for the new fiscal year.
At the board’s last meeting, the College proposed a budget of $105 million, a 12.4 percent decrease from the current fiscal year. College officials said the new budget accounts for anticipated decreases in state funding, enrollment, and housing and food service revenue, among other revenue sources. It includes reduced travel expenditures and reductions in all departmental budgets, but also includes a potential salary increase for full-time faculty and staff.
Also at Tuesday’s meeting, the board will consider authorizing the College to seek qualifications for architectural services and seek proposals for construction manager-at-risk services related to upgrades at Dreyer Field on the Brenham Campus.
The board will also consider approval to proceed with the design of the RELLIS Phase II Building on the RELLIS Campus, and request proposals for construction manager-at-risk services for the building.
The board will meet Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. Public access to the meeting will be limited to Rooms 2 and 3 of the Brenham Campus Student Center. The meeting will also be livestreamed on Blinn’s YouTube channel.
