ARREST MADE IN CALDWELL BURGLARIES

  

A Giddings man has been arrested and charged in a pair of burglaries of businesses in Caldwell.

The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 34-year old Jaquinton Whatley on two counts of burglary of a building.

Deputies received a call Wednesday of a burglary in progress at a truck stop on Highway 21.  While they were at the scene, the sheriff’s office received another call of another business burglary in progress several miles away.

Authorities responded to the second call and found the same person on surveillance footage from both stores.

Within minutes, deputies found a vehicle matching the suspect’s and inside found the stolen items.  Whatley was then taken into custody.

The case is under investigation by the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
