BRAZOS VALLEY FOOD BANK CLOSES WAREHOUSE, VOLUNTEER CENTER AFTER EMPLOYEE TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

The Brazos Valley Food Bank (BVFB) is closed through at least this week, after an employee tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

The BVFB announced via Facebook that the employee tested positive late Thursday, immediately leaving the facility and beginning quarantine.  As the employee had close contact with all warehouse and volunteer center staff, those facilities were closed.

The warehouse and volunteer center will be completely sanitized by a professional service, and staff in those areas are currently self-isolating and will be tested.

The BVFB has notified those who volunteered last week, and will contact future volunteers.  Partner agencies and retail pick-up partners who may have been exposed will also be contacted.

A BVFB board member will help in the warehouse with two temporary workers this week to fulfill orders, ensuring that summer backpack sites, senior bag sites, mobile pantry partners and partner agencies can come to the facility and receive the food they need.
