VIDEO – COUNTY ENGINEERING AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

  

KWHI got a chance to take a walking tour of the new Washington County Engineering and Development Services building at 3650 Highway 36 North.  The new building not only houses the Road and Bridge Department, but also the Rural Addressing and Mapping Department and the County Environmental Health Office.  It also has an office space for precinct 1 and 3 County Commissioners, Don Koester and Kirk Hanath.  edit 7-24-20: (When asked if the other commissioners had offices at the building, Commissioner Koester reminded us that any more would constitute a quorum, and that would require a posted agenda any time they went to the office)

The new facility was built on land purchased from Ms. Gladys Neumann Brauner and is located on property that was once part of the Neumann family place.  A plaque commemorating the purchase is located on the exterior of the building.
