BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT MAKES NUMEROUS CALLS WEDNESDAY

  

 

Authorities were called out to a noon-hour accident, Wednesday.

The one-vehicle accident occurred just before 12:30 near Hohlt Park on North Park Street.  According to police a car had struck a guard rail and had fluid leaking onto the road.

The Brenham Fire Department blocked one lane of traffic and used absorbent to clean up the spill.

No injuries were reported.

The Fire Department was later called to Blinn College to a dumpster fire call.

Fire fighters responded to the lot near the Blinn Student Center.  Blinn Police had already put the fire out with an extinguisher.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Wednesday evening, the department was called out to a grass fire on Allen Road.

Units found a fully involved pickup and small grass fire in close proximity to a structure and a propane tank.  The Brenham Department and Meyersville Fire Department extinguished the fire which covered about a ¼ acre.

The driver of the pickup suffered burns to his legs and was treated by EMS.

Also assisting on scene were Citizens on Patrol, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The truck was a total loss.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
