BISD TALLYING OPENING ENROLLMENT NUMBERS
Officials with the Brenham Independent School District say they are still tabulating student enrollment numbers for the start of the 2020-21 school year.
BISD officials say they are still engaged in the enrollment process as parents had to decide whether their children will attend classes in person or learn online.
In July, the district gave parents the choice on attendance for the first six weeks of classes with 68% choosing in-person learning and 32% taking the on-line option.
Those decisions can be changed in six weeks.
The effect of those commitments on the enrollment numbers is still being determined.
Director of communications and special projects, Veronica Johannsen, says the district is hopes to complete its enrollment shortly after Labor Day.
