BRENHAM ISD LAUNCHES COVID-19 DASHBOARD

Brenham ISD has launched a COVID-19 dashboard to provide information on coronavirus cases in the school district.

The dashboard, launched Friday, shows the current total of lab-confirmed positive COVID-19 cases identified on Brenham ISD campuses.  It also indicates the age ranges that are experiencing cases, including ages 3-7, 8-10, 11-14, 15-18, and 19 and up.  Data will be updated daily at 4 p.m.

Currently, the district is reporting no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in students or faculty.  Should a positive case be confirmed, the district will immediately notify any individual who had close contact with the affected person during the infectious timeframe.  The COVID Response Team will notify the local health department and the Texas Education Agency of any such positive case.

Brenham ISD officials say that, based on the guidance of local health officials, they will send home any student that shows one or more of the symptoms associated with COVID-19 and any person who has come into close contact with someone showing symptoms.  The district is also asking parents to keep their children at home if they are showing any symptoms.

Because symptoms could be from any number of illnesses, the dashboard will not include the individuals sent home with symptoms, as they have not been identified as a lab confirmed COVID-19 positive case.  If any of these individuals do receive a confirmed test result, they will be included in the count.

The district says it will continue to follow guidance from local, state, and federal governing bodies to make the best decisions for the safety of students and staff.

The dashboard can be accessed by clicking the COVID-19 Information Center on the district’s homepage at www.brenhamisd.net.
