After competing in a regional contest this past weekend, it is on to state for several members of the Brenham High School Choir.
A record number of 22 high school students earned the opportunity to advance to the state contest following the UIL Region 27 Solo and Ensemble Contest.
The students have been practicing since Christmas for the contest and performed various selections, including German art songs and Italian opera arias.
Brenham ISD Choir Director Amanda Seymour said the choir “brought home the gold” at the regional competition, and congratulated the students on the work they put in for the event.
The state competition will be held in May.
