GROOVY GRAPES WINE WALK SATURDAY IN DOWNTOWN NAVASOTA

The annual Groovy Grapes Wine Walk invites wine lovers of all kinds to downtown Navasota this weekend.

Tomorrow’s (Saturday) event, hosted by the Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce, will feature a variety of Texas wines and snacks at participating businesses from 2 to 6 p.m.

After checking in at the Navasota Visitor’s Center, attendees will get a commemorative wine glass, a wristband and a punch card to present at each location along the route.  Those who visit each designated location will be entered into a drawing for prizes donated by participating businesses.  Local musicians will provide entertainment for guests along the way.

New this year is an after-event in downtown that will be jointly hosted at The Gallery Downtown and the new Rail & Rye Restaurant after the wine walk, starting at 6 p.m.  Although the Rail & Rye is not yet open for business, owner Chris Tucker has arranged for the patio deck on the second level to serve wines and foods.  Dallas Shipp will provide live entertainment.

In addition to the different wine stops, designated locations will serve non-alcoholic drinks.

Tickets are $20, and are limited to ages 21 and up.  They can be purchased at the event starting at 1:30 p.m., or by visiting http://navasotagrimeschamber.com.
