SUSPECT IDENTIFIED, CHARGED IN SHOOTING DEATH OF WALLER CO. VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER

A man has been charged with Manslaughter in the shooting death of a Waller County volunteer firefighter this past weekend.
Joshua Michael Hahn remains in the Waller County Jail on $100,000 bond after Sunday night’s shooting.
The victim was identified as 18-year-old Douglas William Smith, according to Waller County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace J.R. Woolley. The Waller County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting also resulted in injury to another individual.
Smith was a member of the Tri-County Fire Department, according to a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for Smith’s funeral costs.
The shooting occurred around 8 p.m. Sunday on Bowler Road, although a more specific location was not provided by authorities.
The Sheriff’s Office said investigation is ongoing pending possible additional charges.
