MINOR ACCIDENT TUESDAY INVOLVING BRENHAM FIRE TRUCK
No injuries are reported after a Tuesday afternoon accident involving a Brenham fire truck.
Interim Brenham Fire Chief Rhea Cooper said the accident occurred around 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Market Street in downtown Brenham.
According to Cooper, fire engine No. 4 was responding to a report of a structure fire during a thunderstorm when it collided with an SUV.
Cooper said the collision resulted in a dent to the right rear bumper of the SUV and a scratch on the bumper of the fire engine.
No tickets were issued to either party.
The structure fire call led firefighters to a home in the 400 block of Mansfield Street. When they arrived, they found no fire, but there was damage to the stove and cabinets above the stove area after a pot was found on the stove. Firefighters used a gas fan to remove light smoke from inside the home.
