GRIMES CO. JAIL SUSPENDING VISITATION
The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office is closing to the public and discontinuing visitation at the jail, citing the recent increase in COVID-19 cases.
The Sheriff’s Office announced the changes, effective immediately, in a press release on Sunday.
According to the release, the decision was made to “protect the inmates as well as personnel from the spread of COVID-19” in the facility.
The Sheriff’s Office said it will reevaluate this decision within 30 days and provide an update on the closure.
