WASHINGTON CO. APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD TO CONSIDER RENEWING CONTRACT WITH BRENHAM ISD

The Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors will act upon annual renewal of its contract with Brenham ISD at its meeting Tuesday.

The contract authorizes the school district to perform the appraisal duties of the appraisal district under Texas Property Tax Code.  According to Chief Appraiser Dyann White, the contract has been in place since appraisal districts were formed by the Texas Legislature in 1979.

The cost is equal to the appraisal district budget for the 2021-22 Fiscal Year, which is $979,180.  White said aside from the new budget amount, there are no changes to the contract.

The contract is the only action item on the agenda for board members, who will then hear a series of reports.

The board will meet Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at the appraisal district office at 1301 Niebuhr Street.

  1. The appraisal board needs to exclude seniors who don’t get a cost of living increase! But yet are expected to pay increased water bills, pay raises for the city and pay for our school districts. I haven’t attended school in 50+ years!! Thank you
