TOY KURTZ RETIRING AS WCHLA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
WILLY DILWORTH TO SUCCEED KURTZ
The longtime executive director of the Washington County Healthy Living Association (WCHLA) is retiring.
Toy Kurtz is stepping down after 19 years as the organization’s executive director. Her retirement will be effective on Thursday.
Under Kurtz, the WCHLA opened the Margaret E. Blizzard Senior Activity Center. The facility opened in 2016 and offers meals and activities for senior citizens.
Don Voelter, who was chair of the WCHLA’s Board of Directors when the senior center was built, says Kurtz will be greatly missed.
The organization also operates the Forever Young Resale Shop, which was established in 2008 and uses proceeds from sales to feed homebound senior citizens in Washington County.
Following Kurtz’ retirement, board member Willy Dilworth will take on her role beginning next Friday.
The senior center will host a retirement party for Kurtz on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. Guests are asked to RSVP by calling 979-836-6552.
