BURLESON CO. FAIR BREAKS TOTAL SALES RECORD

The 2021 Burleson County Fair proved to be a roaring success.

According to the Burleson County Fair Association, estimated total sales for the fair hit $2,231,630.  That breaks the total sales record of $2,053,550 set in 2018.  2020’s grand total reached $1,667,000.

Included in this year’s totals are an estimated $1,139,580 for 335 lots in the youth livestock auction, up from last year’s $709,500 and breaking 2018’s record of $1,015,250.

The commercial heifer sale drew $1,043,600 for 95 lots, above 2020’s sale numbers of $935,150, but below 2015’s record of $1,153,000.

The baked goods auction set a new record of $48,450 for 23 items.  The previous record of $30,800 was set in 2019, while last year’s sale raised $22,350.

Some of the high sellers in the youth livestock auction included Cayden Zboril’s grand champion market steer, which sold to Evers & Sons Inc., Kawasaki of Caldwell, Serenity Ranch Estate and Armstrong Properties for $12,000.  Laramie Pieper’s reserve champion market steer sold for $11,500 to Milam County Livestock and Marvin and Martha Kacer.
