QUEBE SISTERS TO PERFORM AT THE BARNHILL CENTER OCT. 23
An innovative Western swing band will soon take the stage at The Barnhill Center in downtown Brenham.
The Quebe Sisters, who blend traditional Western swing with jazz, country and Western music to create a fresh Americana sound, will perform Saturday, October 23rd at 7 p.m.
Grace, Sophia and Hulda Quebe front the band with their triple-fiddles and three-part harmonies. An archtop guitar, upright bass and percussions complete their unique sound.
Show producer Sharon Brass said the Quebe Sisters have a “wonderful down-home presence” combined with “super sophisticated vocal and fiddle harmonies.” Jimmy Buffett added that the group has “a cannonball stage presence” and features a “blend of swing with a dash of contemporary color.” Ricky Skaggs called them “some of the most talented people I’ve ever met.”
During their 15 years of touring the U.S., Europe and Russia, the Quebe Sisters have performed in many concert halls and festivals. Notable appearances include the Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, National Folk Festival, Meyerson Symphony Center, Ryman Auditorium, the Grand Ole Opry and Austin City Limits with Asleep at the Wheel.
