Homecoming festivities for Brenham High School get underway tonight (Wednesday) with a parade through downtown Brenham.

The parade will make its way through downtown starting at 6 p.m. on Main Street.  KWHI will begin its broadcast of the parade at 5:45 p.m. on AM 1280, FM 101.7 and kwhi.com, and will also livestream it on the KWHI Facebook page.

Voting has begun at Brenham High School for the 20 students up for Homecoming King and Queen.

This year’s Homecoming Queen nominees are Tanner Dickens, Jennifer Getz, Opre Auhna Graves, Renasjia Gray, Trinity Hart, Sarahbella Henderson, Kaylen Kruse, Nicole Soto, Adrienne Zientek and Kelsey Zientek.

Running for Homecoming King are Ted Deans, Javon Dixon, Eric Hemphill, Esteban Flores, Amir Johnson, Joseph Medrano, Jared Mueller, Ian Wirtz, Kaden Watts and Andrew Zschech.

The queen will be announced during halftime of the Cubs’ football game on Friday versus Pflugerville Connally, which kicks off at 7 p.m.  The king will be announced after the game.

Friday night’s game can be heard live on KWHI, with pregame starting at 6:30 p.m.
