SEVERAL ALTERCATIONS, INCIDENTS AT WALLER HIGH SCHOOL WEDNESDAY

Several Waller High School students face discipline after a series of incidents on campus Wednesday.

In communication to Waller ISD families, Waller High School Principal Stephanie Fletcher said the first altercation occurred in the morning and was the result of an “out of school conflict” between two groups of students.  Fletcher said the incident ended in less than a minute after intervention from staff and Harris County School Resource Officers.

Two students and a staff member were transported to the hospital for evaluation, but are now home.

The second altercation occurred during lunch, where a group of students, according to Fletcher, had a “negative encounter” that was stopped by staff before it “escalated to more than words.”

A third incident happened around 1:15 p.m., when a student was found in possession of a plastic toy gun.

Medical authorities were called to the school again to assist an individual who was experiencing a medical emergency.

Fletcher said all of the incidents are unrelated, and anyone breaking rules “will be disciplined to the fullest extent of our student handbook, student code of conduct, and the law.”
