EIGHT SENTENCED IN 21ST DISTRICT COURT

  

Eight people pleaded guilty and were sentenced this week in 21st Judicial District Court in Brenham.

26-year-old Stephen Edward King of Mexia was sentenced to three years in prison for a September charge of Possession of a Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility, a third degree felony.

57-year-old Ricky Kim Martin of Grapevine was sentenced to 10 months in state jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a state jail felony.

51-year-old Tanora Javice Deere of Brenham received 10 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Burglary of a Habitation, a second degree felony.  Deere was also ordered to pay a $500 fine, $100 to a family violence shelter and a $50 crime stoppers fee.  She will also have to perform 150 hours of community service, maintain no contact with the victim in the case, and complete a batterer’s intervention program.

33-year-old Terrence Barnett of Brenham was sentenced to 5 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second degree felony.  Barnett will also have to pay a $1,000 fine, a $50 warrant fee and a $50 crime stoppers fee.  In addition, he must perform 250 hours of community service and complete a batterer’s intervention program and drug offender education program.

20-year-old Jocelyn Vezely Rokohl of Austin received 5 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Assault of a Public Servant, a third degree felony.  Rokohl must also pay a $500 fine and $50 crime stoppers fee, in addition to completing Intermediate Sanction Facility programs at a 180 day lockdown facility and performing 200 hours of community service.

58-year-old Carolyn Yvonne Hilgen of Burton was sentenced to 5 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Attempted Tampering with Physical Evidence, both state jail felonies.  Hilgen must also pay a $1,500 fine, a $180 lab fee and a $50 crime stoppers fee.  She will also need to perform 150 hours of community service and complete a drug offender education program.

28-year-old Qunesha Lache Ward of Brenham was sentenced to 4 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Theft of Property between $2,500 and $30,000, a state jail felony.  Ward must also pay $8,926 in restitution and a $50 crime stoppers fee, and will also need to perform 150 hours of community service and maintain no contact with the victim.

27-year-old Cory Alan Snyder of Katy received 2 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class A misdemeanor.  Snyder must also pay a $1,500 fine, a $180 lab fee and a $50 crime stoppers fee.  In addition, he will need to perform 150 hours community service restitution and complete a drug offender education program.
