TWO ARRESTED FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON

An altercation between two parties lead to two Brenham men being charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.   Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak reports that on Sunday, at 5:30 pm, Deputies responded to a weapons involved altercation on Tommelson Creek Road.  Deputies identified the parties at the location and determined that 51 year old Brenham resident Charles Douglas McCurley and 45 year old Brenham resident Bainham Cade Skidmore had traveled to the location to discuss personal property issues of a McCurley’s family member.  Neither McCurley nor Skidmore were owners or renters of the property where this altercation took place.  According to witnesses on the property, a physical fight ensued between McCurley and Skidmore and two witnesses on the site with a handgun allegedly being displayed in a threatening manner.

Both McCurley and Skidmore departed the scene and were later arrested at McCurley’s residence on Confederate Lane.  Both were charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and bonds for each were set at $100,000.  Both men remain in the Washington County Jail.  No further information is available and the investigation will continue.
