WORK BEGINNING MONDAY AT 290-CHAPPELL HILL STREET INTERSECTION

  

TxDOT contractors will begin intersection work tomorrow (Monday) at the Highway 290 and Chappell Hill Street underpass in Brenham.

TxDOT says the underpass will be closed to perform roadway work, install pedestrian facilities and install traffic signals.

Underpass traffic will be detoured to the adjacent Highway 290 intersections at Highway 36 and South Market Street.

The Chappell Hill Street underpass will remain closed for approximately two months.

Drivers are advised to watch for traffic control and messages, and are encouraged to plan for extra travel time through the area or seek other routes.

The project is contracted to Larry Young Paving and is expected to be complete in the spring of 2022.
