BRENHAM MUNICIPAL AIRPORT TO RECEIVE $295,000 FROM BIPARTISAN INFRASTRUCTURE BILL

The Brenham Municipal Airport is set to receive $295,000 in federal funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced today (Thursday) it will award an estimated $241.6 million to Texas’ 193 airports.  This includes 25 commercial airports and 168 reliever and general aviation airports that will receive funding through the Airport Infrastructure Grant program, one of three new aviation programs created by the law.

The money can be invested in runways, taxiways, safety and sustainability projects, as well as terminal, airport-transit connections and roadway projects.  This is the first of five annual rounds of funding Texas airports will receive; the law provides $15 billion over five years to airports around the nation.

Funding for other airports in the region includes $1,186,213 for Easterwood Airport in College Station, $295,000 for the Huntsville Municipal Airport, and $159,000 for the Giddings-Lee County Airport, Fayette Regional Air Center in La Grange, Coulter Field in Bryan and Eagle Lake Airport.  The Hearne Municipal Airport will receive $110,000.

Texas airports can submit projects they wish to use the funds on for FAA review in the coming weeks.  The FAA encourages airports to prioritize projects that increase airport safety, equity and sustainability.

  1. Not worth the inflation from the massive “infrasctucture” bill of which only 11% is actually infrastructure. Did you know per this inflation driving monstrosity after a certain date all new cars will have to have breathalizers on them. Don’t drink? Doesn’t matter. Never driven drunk? Doesn’t matter.
