$1,900 IN GIFT CARDS FOR BURLESON CO. TEEN STOLEN FROM P.O. BOX

The Christmas of a Burleson County teenager has been devastated after $1,900 worth of gift cards were stolen from a Post Office box in Beaver Creek.

The Choctaw Nation sent the gift cards to 14-year-old Ahmad White to help him and his family with Christmas and various medical expenses.

White has had 21 surgeries due to medical complications from birth.  He also has another sick family member in the home, while his mother is fighting cancer.

The family told KBTX-TV in Bryan that the Choctaw Nation has traced the cards and found they were used to make purchases in Madisonville and Midway.  The Choctaw Nation and the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office are working with the family to recover the money.

The United States Postal Service says anyone who suspects their mail has been stolen should file a report as soon as possible.  Suspected mail losses can be reported by calling 877-876-2455 or going to www.uspis.gov.
