‘ADELE’ NAMED PET OF THE DAY; KREWE OF BARKUS SATURDAY AT BRENHAM PET ADOPTION CENTER

The Brenham Pet Adoption Center has named Adele as its Pet of the Day.

This week, there will be five Pets of the Day rather than one Pet of the Week, in preparation for this Saturday’s Krewe of Barkus adoption event and costume contest.

Adele is an adult spayed pit bull mix.  Brenham Animal Services says she has a calm demeanor and is a gentle and easy-going friend to other dogs.  Adele is heartworm positive, but she has been treated for the last five months and is close to her retesting date.

Anyone interested in adopting or fostering a pet can visit www.petfinder.com to see the shelter’s available pets.  Appointments can be made by calling 979-337-7351 or visiting the Brenham Animal Services Facebook page.

For the Krewe of Barkus event, pet owners can enter by emailing a photo of their pet in a Mardi Gras-themed costume to animalservices@cityofbrenham.org.  They can also stop by the Brenham Pet Adoption Center or Puppy Dawgs and Cat Tails on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to enter in person.   Adoptable pets will be available at both locations.

The adoption center asks for only local contestants.  Prizes will be provided by the adoption center, Puppy Dawgs and Cat Tails and Brenham Veterinary Hospital.

  1. I am interested in adopting a certain dog that is listed on Petfinder from your shelter. I am wondering what dogs will be at the event and which ones will still be at the shelter. That way I will know what location to go to and not miss out on getting the sweetie that I have my eye on.
