ELECTION DAY FOR MARCH PRIMARIES
Election Day is here for the March primaries.
Today (Tuesday) is the last day to cast ballots in the races for Washington County Commissioner of Precinct 2, Washington County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3, State Representative District 12 and several statewide races.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 14 polling locations across the county. A full list of those can be seen below, as well as on the county’s website, www.co.washington.tx.us.
- 101 - Friedens Church of Washington at 20322 FM 1155 in Washington.
- 104, 117 and 121 - Washington County Expo Event Center at 1305 East Blue Bell Road in Brenham.
- 109 - St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill at 8819 FM 2621.
- 115 - Silver Wings Ballroom at 4100 Highway 105 in Brenham.
- 202 and 208 - Salem Lutheran Church at 1500 Salem Road.
- 203 - Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department at 5295 Main Street in Chappell Hill.
- 205 - VFW Hall in Brenham at 1200 East Tom Green Street.
- 307 and 316 - American Legion Hall in Brenham at 903 North Park Street.
- 311 - St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Gay Hill at 8201 Old Gay Hill Road.
- 312 - St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill at 6605 Old Independence Road.
- 320 - Berlin-Mill Creek-Zionsville Fire Department at 101 Lillie Lange Road.
- 406, 418 and 419 - Blinn College Student Center at 1007 Walter Schwartz Way in Brenham.
- 410 - Burton Community Center at 13100 West Washington Street.
- 413 - Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Greenvine at 6700 Wickel Road.
Out of 24,111 registered voters, a total of 3,817 people – 3,368 Republicans and 449 Democrats – participated in early voting, a turnout of 15.8 percent.
All of Washington County’s contested races are on the Republican ballot, and all of the winners in tonight’s primary will be unopposed in November.
For Precinct 2 County Commissioner, incumbent Candice Bullock is facing challenger Mark Schonefeld.
Daniel McCarthy and Duane “Dane” Houston are running for the Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace seat formerly held by Ken Tofel, who retired in June.
Three candidates are vying for State Representative District 12: incumbent Kyle Kacal, Ben Bius and Joshua Hamm.
