NEW MURAL CELEBRATES CALDWELL CZECH HISTORY
Caldwell residents are in the process of getting a new decoration for the downtown area that celebrates their Czech heritage.
Main Street Caldwell is teaming up with students from Texas A&M University to paint a mural that is designed to represent the city’s history with Czech motif quilt squares.
The project’s designer, Madeline Patton, said that the city of Caldwell has a lot of Czech history, and she wanted to bring that out with the mural.
This past weekend, the design committee, Main Street Board members, and the A&M students spent over 16 hours working on the mural.
They are hopeful of being finished with the project by the end of the week.
A second mural is planned for another section of downtown Caldwell. Work on that will begin at a later date.
