BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES HONORED AT SCHOLARSHIP CEREMONY
Thousands of dollars in scholarships were presented to graduating Brenham High School seniors Monday night at the high school’s 35th Annual Scholarship Ceremony.
Numerous scholarships, ranging from a few hundred to several thousand dollars, were awarded at the ceremony, hosted at the high school auditorium by the Brenham High School National Honor Society.
The top two graduates of the Class of 2022 were also announced at Monday night’s ceremony. Named as Valedictorian was Andrew Zschech with a grade point average of 4.8041, while the Salutatorian is Aidan Hord with a GPA of 4.5750.
Zschech said perseverance has been a key factor in his success thus far.
Zschech, the son of Jonathan and Michelle Zschech, will attend the University of Texas at Austin as a biochemistry major in the College of Natural Sciences, and will pursue a career in the medical field. He is also a recipient of the alliantgroup Clients and Partners STEM Scholarship for $10,000.
Hord encouraged her fellow students and classmates to not wait until the last minute to get things done.
Hord, the daughter of Kelly Hord and Richard and Andie Hord, will study at Blinn College before transferring to the University of Texas at Austin, where she will major in finance and pursue a graduate degree.
Out of 332 graduating seniors this year, 114 of them are honor graduates.
Brenham High School’s graduation ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 28th at Cub Stadium. KWHI will have a live broadcast of the ceremony.
