HOMEBUILDING LEADS BUILDING PERMITS FOR APRIL

  

New homes continue to lead the way for City of Brenham monthly building permits.

In April, 20 new homes were permitted by the city for $5,236,819.  The largest individual permit was issued to Chappell Hill Construction for $1,990,976 for a new home in the 600 block of Spencer Street.

Through 2022, 75 homes have been permitted for $14,872,519.  That total matches the number of new home permits issued through this time last year, although those permits were valued at $11,419,960.

Blue Bell Creameries took out two commercial permits last month totaling $1,445,630.  That includes remodeling of the old milk bay building for $1,142,000 for a second pasteurizing facility, and a $303,630 permit for office building window replacements.

A total of 42 building permits were issued in April for $7,542,927.  April 2021 had 72 permits for $8,689,613.

So far this year, the city has issued 151 permits worth $22,886,969, compared to a year ago when the city had issued 148 permits for $18,543,172.
