BLINN TRUSTEES AUTHORIZE SALE OF 95 ACRES TO BRYAN ISD
The Blinn Board of Trustees authorized the College today (Tuesday) to complete the sale of 95.29 acres of property in west Bryan to Bryan ISD for $4.53 million.
Blinn purchased the property at FM 2818 and Leonard Road in 2015 to develop a second Brazos County campus. However, the College decided not to develop the property after being invited to participate in the RELLIS Academic Alliance on the RELLIS Campus. Blinn opened campus operations at RELLIS in the fall of 2018.
In other business, the board authorized the College to negotiate and execute a contract with Allenko Finishes, LLC, for interior painting at Wheeler Hall on the Brenham Campus for $140,000. The board also gave the College authority to proceed with a contract with Honorlock, Inc. to provide online proctoring services, budgeted at $383,332 during Fiscal Year 2023 and $480,000 each of the following two years.
The board also received reports regarding Blinn’s Adult Education and Literacy Program and the Dental Hygiene Program’s recent Give Kids a Smile event, which provided approximately $20,000 in free dental services to local children.
Also, Blinn’s CFO claimed that a 4% raise for faculty matched inflation. The board actually pushed back and suggested the CFO put together a proposal with 5% for next month’s meeting.
