BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL TO HOLD SECOND READING ON BUDGET & TAX RATE, MEET IN EXECUTIVE SESSION

  

The Brenham City Council’s second meeting of the week on Thursday will include the second reading of the city’s new budget and tax rate, along with the consideration of several executive session items.

On Monday, the council unanimously adopted a $91.8 million budget and a tax rate of $0.4737 per $100 valuation for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins on Saturday.

Also on the agenda is a resolution authorizing the acceptance of public improvements in Phase 2A of the Liberty Village subdivision, and a change order to the service agreement with Bassco Services, Inc. for the design, construction and installation of the new fuel farm at the Brenham Municipal Airport.

The council will then hold executive session discussion on three items.  First will be discussion and possible action regarding the purchase, exchange and/or acquisition of real property for city sanitary sewer improvements and facilities.  Next will be discussion on utility competitive matters pertaining to the city’s gas system, followed by consultation with the city attorney regarding Aviators Plus, LLC v. City of Brenham; Cause No. 27896; 21st Judicial District Court, Washington County.

The council will meet Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brenham City Hall.
