The town of Brenham was mentioned by name in a new comedy sketch performed this weekend on “Saturday Night Live”.
The skit is a commercial from the imaginary King Brothers Toyota dealership, who is holding an overstock sale.
The auto salesmen in the commercial are frustrated that their dealership is being undone by highway traffic caused by new fast food chains, and take to task the fictional councilman responsible for allowing the restaurants to locate there.
It also features special guest host Michael B. Jordan, a sales rep who begins to reveal ingredients from one of the restaurant’s secret sauces for as long as the dealership’s demands are not met.
The skit can be seen on the Saturday Night Live YouTube channel.

All SNL (with Andrew Dismukes, who travelled from Port Neches to UT-Austin via 290) has to do is troll KWHI news comment sections for small-town comedy gold!
My theory on the origin on this is the spotlight came to Brenham due to the decades fact that entertainers, tv stars, movie stars, and media folk are known to pass through/stop in Brenham to eat or stay when traveling from Houston to Austin, etc. Folk such as Brenham’s own Sadie Sink have the ear of producers.
Someone made the suggestion to someone and the skit came about.
Spot on!
Would have been even funnier if they’d have used Hwy 290 and the Hwy 36 exit and Chick-fila!!
I’m still surprised anybody even watches that show anymore.
Very funny! Also very interesting! Who is the “ace” behind this?
Andrew Dismukes is from Port Neches.
