BRENHAM MCJROTC ADVANCING TO NATIONALS

The Brenham High School Marine Corps Junior ROTC is headed to nationals for the seventh straight year.

The Brenham High School Marine Corps Junior
ROTC is advancing to nationals for the seventh year
in a row.

On April 12th, Brenham’s Unarmed Drill Team will represent Brenham High School at the National Championship in Fredericksburg, Virginia as one of only eight teams throughout the country to receive an invitation.

The Brenham MCJROTC participated on February 4th in the Region 5 Drill Championship in Allen against 16 select teams in two divisions.  Divisions included the Armed Division and the Unarmed Division, which encompass personnel inspection, Color Guard, regulation drill and exhibition drill.

The Unarmed Drill Team placed 2nd in their division, while the Armed Team placed 3rd.  Per a press release from Brenham ISD, it would normally be the top three teams that are invited to the National Championship, but due to government budget constraints, only the top two teams are moving on.

Special recognition goes to Unarmed Commanders Jackie Salinas, Amelia Bayse and Ximena Cervantes Mejia, and Armed Commanders Dylan Guerrero, Noah Childs and Colton Linegar for their work this year.
