A certified public accountant is seeking to join the Blinn Board of Trustees.

Diane Kruse Kettler has filed for the Precinct 2 position held by Douglas Borchardt, who is not running for a third term on the board.  A longtime Washington County resident, she has performed audit and tax work in the public accounting sector as well as financial reporting in the industry sector for a Fortune 500 company.  She is currently a homemaker and handles family accounting, financial planning and other family and business matters.

Kettler says she has gained valuable business experience that would serve her well in this role.

Kettler attended Blinn and graduated from Texas A&M University with a BBA in Accounting with honors in 1986.  She was licensed as a CPA in 1988.

Kettler says she is looking to help navigate the College through the current economic uncertainty and bring it back to pre-pandemic levels in terms of in-person instruction, so that students can be better engaged in their learning.  She also calls Borchardt a “very valuable resource” of knowledge and wishes to learn from him in order to be better prepared if elected.

Kettler wants to work with the board and the community in a manner filled with integrity, caring and good stewardship.

Thus far, Kettler and Allison Bentke are the only candidates who have filed to run for the board.  Bentke has served on the board since being appointed in October 2021 to fill the unexpired term of Teddy Boehm.

Friday is the last day to apply for candidacy in the May 6th board election.

    1. Diane Kruse Kettler will be a fine Blinn Board member. I know her through our church and feel she will be a good steward of the taxpayers money.
