BRENHAM ACADEMY PREPPING TO OPEN IN SEPTEMBER
The new Academy Sports + Outdoors in Brenham is less than two months away from opening.
The contractor for the sporting goods store, located at 1041 Nolan Street, inside the Market Square development between Market Street and Highway 290, says everything is on schedule for the soft opening to be held on September 11th and the grand opening to follow on September 15th.
Pete Young, the job superintendent for Arch-Con Corporation, says construction is winding down and most of the work right now is taking place inside the store.
Young says final inspections will be next week, after which the building can be safely occupied. The store is expected to stand at over 63,000 square feet.
Academy Sports + Outdoors is doing job interviews on site.
