‘ARMED SUBJECT’ SEEN ON BLINN-BRENHAM CAMPUS APPREHENDED; SHELTER-IN-PLACE LIFTED

Blinn College’s Brenham Campus briefly went into a shelter-in-place this (Wednesday) morning after an "armed subject" was spotted on campus.

Blinn College issued an alert just after 11:15 a.m. advising those in the immediate area to seek safe shelter until further notice.  At 11:45 a.m., the College reported that the active threat had been discontinued and the shelter-in-place had been lifted.  Normal activities have resumed.

Blinn Communications Director Richard Bray said Blinn police received a report of a student with a possible weapon on campus.

According to Brenham Police Chief Ron Parker, the subject, only identified as a male, fled Blinn officers and allegedly dumped the handgun at Jackson Street Park.  The individual was located at the park and is in custody after being apprehended by Blinn officers.  A K-9 was called to the scene to search for the gun.

The incident remains under active investigation.  No injuries are reported.

  1. Why did they just report Male subject? I think the pu lic needs to know that he was a black male football player and he pulled out a gun in the football locker room while all or most of his teammates were in there!!!! All of their lives were at stake! Why would this be reported like it was no big deal? My grandson was in that room! I sure hope that player does not get reinstated on the football team!
BTW, they could use DEA on the premises also!
