ST. CECILIAS TO HOLD “A CHRISTMAS CONCERT FOR PEACE”
St. Cecilia’s Church in Round Top has assembled a large group of entertainers for “A Christmas Concert for Peace.”
The concert is being held on Friday, December 22, at 7:30pm in the Concert Hall at Festival Hill. Tickets are $35 each.
All proceeds from the concert are going to benefit non-profit organizations working for peace in the Middle East.
These include the Alliance for Middle East Peace, the Parents Circle, and Combatants for Peace.
Performers include Grammy Winner Shawn Colvin, Texas singer/songwriter Darden Smith, guitarist David Pulkingham, Austin’s Best World Music Band Atash, Joey McGee, Crispin Schroeder, and the Paul English Quartet featuring All-Star Jazz musicians David Caceres and Kamil Bonner.
There will also be a spoken word for peace by Vietnam Veteran and Academy Award Nominated Screenwriter William Broyles Jr. Broyles is best known for the TV series China Beach, as well as movies like Apollo 13, Castaway, and The Polar Express.
