FIVE CALLS MONDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to five calls throughout the day on Monday.

Shortly before 8 a.m., the department received a report of a transportation incident in the 2800 block of Highway 290 East.  Units arrived to find a two-vehicle accident.  They checked to see if anyone was hurt and found one driver complaining of back pain.  The department advised dispatch to have EMS make location and cleared the scene once the roadway was back open.

At 9:45 a.m., firefighters were called to the 100 block of East Alamo Street for a transportation incident involving a pedestrian.  They arrived to find EMS providing patient care and assisted EMS, returning to service after the roadway was cleared.

At 11:45 a.m., BFD members responded to the 1000 block of Tommelson Creek Road along with the Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Department for a grass fire.  Upon making location, they discovered a small grass fire by the roadway.  Firefighters extinguished the blaze and returned to the station.

Around 2:30 p.m., units went out to the 2200 block of Gun and Rod Road for a transportation incident and found a two-vehicle accident with no fluids leaking.  They checked for injuries and found one driver needing assistance.  After the roadway was cleared, firefighters were back in service.

At 10 p.m., the department responded to an alarm sounding at Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building when units arrived, but they later found a pull station was activated.  After making sure there was no smoke or fire, they reset the pull station.
