BRENHAM CUB BAND TO CONDUCT MARCH-A-THON AUG. 9
The Brenham Cub Band will soon make its annual trek through town with its March-a-Thon.
Brenham ISD families and supporters are invited to cheer on the band on Friday, August 9th as it plays marching tunes across the city in preparation for the new school year.
This year, the march will begin at 7:45 a.m. in the First Baptist Church Day School parking lot. At 8 a.m., the band will perform a concert for First Baptist Day School students.
The band will then continue along the traditional parade route through downtown Brenham, heading west onto Main Street, making a turn at North Austin Street, and proceeding east on Alamo Street.
Afterwards, the band will make its way to Bank of Brenham for a mini-concert, followed by two more mini-concerts at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Brenham ISD Central Office.
Depending on time and if it is still early enough in the morning, the band will also play at Christ Lutheran Day School and the Margaret E. Blizzard Senior Activity Center. The march will end at the Blue Bell Creameries parking lot.
The March-a-Thon acts as a fundraiser for the band program. To donate, contact Band Director Eric Rettig at erettig@brenhamk-12.net.
