Attending the event were members of the Brenham Heritage Museum Board of Directors and staff, who cut the ribbon in celebration of the museum’s two newest additions.  Approximately 85 people attended the event, including elected officials.

The European Immigration Kiosk couples digital displays with vintage artifacts that tell the stories of the Germans, Poles, Czechs and other immigrants who settled in Washington County.

The Welcome Wall greets visitors as they enter the museum and offers detailed information about Washington County’s origins through an interactive video screen and a map of Texas.

Museum Executive Director David Thomas says the museum is proud to unveil the new additions, calling the European Immigration Kiosk “an absolute must-see” and saying the Welcome Wall is “sure to impress.”

The museum board and staff thank the exhibits’ supporters: Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities; the Texas Historical Foundation; and Lauren Anderson and Robert Flanagan.
