DEADLINE OCT. 10 TO APPLY FOR FEMA AID FROM HURRICANE BERYL
Time is running out for Texas residents and businesses who were impacted by Hurricane Beryl to apply for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) or a disaster loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
The deadline to apply for a FEMA grant or SBA disaster loan is Thursday, October 10th.
While Washington and all surrounding counties are eligible for some form of public assistance for local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations, individual assistance is only available in the immediate area to those in Austin and Waller counties.
Insured applicants are encouraged to file their insurance claims as soon as possible.
FEMA assistance is not taxed and will not affect Social Security, Medicaid or other federal benefits.
Applications can be made by going to https://disasterassistance.gov or https://sba.gov/disaster.
