LLOYD SAUNDERS MEMORIAL COOK-OFF SATURDAY

  

The annual Lloyd Saunders Memorial Cook-off is set for tomorrow (Saturday) at the Washington County Expo.

The cook-off raises funds each year for the Lloyd Saunders Memorial Scholarship Program, which supports past Washington County Fair calf scramble participants.  This year, the event is honoring longtime supporter Stanley Klekar.

Judging for the cook-off begins at 11 a.m. and will cover several categories throughout the day, such as chili, beans, margaritas, Bloody Mary’s and chef’s choice.

Entry is $20 per category, with cash prizes and plaques going to the best entries.  Participants can sign up through tomorrow morning. 

Guests will also be able to hear live music from a DJ and participate in a sanctioned cornhole tournament, live auction, 50/50 drawing and a card draw for a gun.  The cornhole tournament begins at 1 p.m., while the live auction will start around 5:30 p.m.
