WINNERS ANNOUNCED FOR 21ST ANNUAL SCARECROW EXTRAVAGANZA
The winners have been revealed in Main Street Brenham’s 21st Annual Scarecrow Extravaganza.
The public had the chance to vote on their favorite scarecrows out of 20 that were scattered across downtown Brenham. Nine entries were selected as winners.
Winner of Best Overall, receiving $300 from Hermann Furniture, is “Happy Fall Y’all” by Bountiful Blessings Day Program LLC.
The scarecrow with the Most Votes, winning $200 from Christy Schlottmann Farmers Insurance, was the Boys and Girls Club of Washington County’s “Future Boys and Girls Club Members”.
The Judges’ Choice and the winner of $200 from KTEX/KWHI is “Stealing Z’s” by Christy Schlottmann Farmers Insurance.
The scarecrow with the Best Fall Theme, winning $125 from The Pomegranate, is “Home for the Holidays” by Our Daughters’ House.
The Most Creative scarecrow, receiving $125 from The Laundry Event Hall, is “The Raven” by Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site Gift Shop.
The winner of Most Educational scarecrow, receiving $125 from Kay Robbins Bluebonnet REMAX, is Brenham High School AVID’s “On To a New Chapter”.
The Silliest entry, winning $125 from Jet Set Chocolates, is “SpongeBob’s Swashbuckling Adventure” by Brenham High School Cub Company and Brenham Junior High Theatre.
Winner of Cutest scarecrow and $125 from Old 300 Title Brenham is “Sheila the Sculptor” by the Brenham High School Sculpture Club.
The Honorable Mention recipient, winning $100 from Ant Street Inn, is Brenham Next with “Brenham Next: Going Places”.
Winners are asked to email the City of Brenham’s Christine Simich at csimich@cityofbrenham.org to set up a time to have their picture taken with their sponsor between tomorrow (Wednesday) and Friday. Scarecrows must be removed from their location by 5 p.m. on Monday.
