TWO BRENHAM MEN ARRESTED FOR BURGLARY, ONE ALSO CHARGED WITH ASSAULTING OFFICER

Two Brenham men were arrested on burglary charges Monday night, and one is also charged with assaulting a peace officer.

Just before 11 p.m., officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the 1700 block of South Day Street.

On the scene, 18-year-old Damien Fullen and 18-year-old Trenton Mulcahey were taken into custody.

While Officer Stephen Mosley was restraining Mulcahey from harming himself, police say the suspect assaulted Mosley by stomping on his foot, causing injury.  Mosley was later checked out and released for duty.

Both Fullen and Mulcahey were transported and booked into the Washington County Jail for Burglary of a Building.  Mulcahey was additionally charged with Assault on a Peace Officer.
