ROUND TOP-CARMINE WINS REGIONALS, NOW ON TO THE STATE SEMIFINALS
The Round Top-Carmine Cubette Volleyball Team advanced to the State Semifinals with 3-1 victory in the Regional Championship over Richards on Saturday in Brenham.
RT-C won the first two sets by the same score 25-22, Richards won the third set 25-23, but then RT-C came back to win the last set 25-8.
Madison Markwardt recorded her 8th triple-double of the season with 10 kills, 17 digs, and 29 assists.
Tess Eilers had 10 kills and 17 digs. Jill Eilers led the defense with 28 digs. Makayla Smith and Bree Dooley added 19 digs each. Jessica Rohde finished with 10 blocks.
Next up, the Cubettes will face Neches in the State Semifinals tomorrow (Tuesday) at 6:30pm in Normangee.
The winner of that game will take on the Bronte-Harrold winner for the State 1A Championship on Thursday at 3pm at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.
