BURTON AMERICAN LEGION MAKES DONATION TO F-111 FIGHTER JET
Burton American Legion Post #242 and the Sons of the American Legion recently made a big donation to help preserve the F-111 fighter jet at Henderson Park.
The two organizations presented James F. Dillon VFW Post #7104 with a check for $2,500 to be used for maintaining the aircraft, which is located across from the American Legion Hall on North Park Street in Brenham.
On hand for the presentation were F-111 Coordinator Don Holley, Burton American Legion Post 242 Commander Edna Mae Meyer, Sons of the American Legion Squadron Leader Ronnie Hohlt, and VFW Post #7104 Commander Ben Seeker.
The fighter jet was dedicated in November 2018.
According to Seeker, due to things like the weather, birds, and wasps, the F-111 is need of ongoing maintenance.
Anyone wishing to help with the ongoing maintenance is encouraged to contact any VFW Post member for more information.
