CUBETTES GO 3-1 AT MT RICE TOURNAMENT

The Brenham Cubettes won three out of four games over the weekend at the MT Rice Tournament hosted by Waco Midway.

The Cubettes opened the tournament with a 45-40 win over Burleson on Friday. Antyiahna Lang led Brenham with 12 points and eight rebounds. Carmen McWilliams added 11 points and six rebounds. Janiyah Mathis also finished with 11 points.

The Cubettes would drop the second game of the day to Lewisville 59-46. Lang finished with 18 points and nine rebounds. Ja'laya Pettus added 11 points and seven rebounds.

On Saturday, Brenham beat Magnolia West 57-55. Mathis led the team in scoring with 15 points. Lang had a double-double with 13 points and 17 rebounds. McWilliams chipped in with 12 points.

The weekend wrapped up with the Cubettes defeating San Angelo Central 29-28. Lang was the high scorer again with nine points and eight rebounds. Yazmine Gaines finished with eight points.

Brenham is now 11-12 on the season. They will return to district play on Friday at 6:30pm, when they host A&M Consolidated at the Brenham High School Gym. KWHI will have live coverage beginning with the pregame a 6:15pm on 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.
