RETURNED FUGITIVE SENTENCED ON CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES

Trevor Reynoso (Burleson County Jail)

A Caldwell man that fled to California, and was later returned to Burleson County to stand trial, found out his fate in District Court on Monday.

35-year-old Trevor Noel Reynoso was sentenced to 40 years in prison by District Judge John Winkelmann for Possession of Child Pornography.

Also included in the sentencing were motions to revoke probation for burglary of a habitation and tampering with evidence, which were filed when Reynoso absconded from justice in 2015.

The case was investigated by Sgt Erik Cabrera with the Attorney General’s office after a tip was received about child pornography in 2015.

While Cabrera investigated the case, Reynoso fled to California. He was subsequently prosecuted for unrelated child sexual abuse cases in California and sentenced to prison there.

Burleson County Attorney Susan Deski was able to secure the return of Reynoso with the help of the Texas Governor’s Office, Sgt Cabrera, the Texas Rangers, Burleson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Department of Public Safety.

Deski released a statement saying, “Today’s sentencing couldn’t have happened without some truly incredible and passionate people working across agency and state lines to see that justice is done.”

Deski added that she hopes it also serves to remind those that her Office will pursue every method to make sure that those who would exploit and injure children are brought to answer for their crimes.
