BRENHAM HERITAGE MUSEUM TO FEATURE ‘THE FAIRYTALE PROJECT’ FEB. 15
The Brenham Heritage Museum will soon play host to a special performance in honor of Black History Month.
Nia’s Daughter Movement Collective will present “The Fairytale Project” at the museum on Saturday, February 15th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“The Fairytale Project” is historically inspired and blends elements of modern and contemporary dance, jazz, musical theatre and African diasporic dance to tell the story of a modern-day African American family reconnecting with their Texas Freedom Colony roots.
The museum says audiences can expect an entertaining and enlightening performance that will leave lasting impressions on students, educators, history buffs and families.
Following the event, guests can attend an artist talk and reception with Stacey Allen, artistic director and storyteller of Nia’s Daughter Movement Collective.
Admission is free, and light bites will be served. Anyone interested is asked to RSVP by emailing admin@brenhamheritagemuseum.org with their name and number of people in their party.
The event will accompany the museum’s upcoming Black History Month exhibit, “Freedom Colonies: A Culture of Connection Through the Arts”, which will be on display from mid-February to mid-March.
