BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT CHARGED AFTER ‘DISORDERLY CONDUCT’ ON SCHOOL PROPERTY

Brenham police report that around 9 a.m., Sergeant Jimmy Ha responded to the 500 block of A.H. Ehrig Drive in reference to a welfare concern.

An individual, identified as 18-year-old Nevaeh Jackson of Brenham, was taken into custody for Evading Arrest/Detention and Resisting Arrest, Search or Transport.

No further information was available from police.  However, Brenham ISD provided a copy of the statement it sent to families after Friday’s incident, which the district described as a student engaging in “disorderly conduct” on the property of the high school campus.

The district said School Resource Officers (SROs) quickly apprehended the individual and brought the situation under control without any danger to students or staff.  Additional law enforcement remained on hand to ensure their continued safety. 

Brenham ISD said it is grateful for the response of the SROs and Brenham Police Department and that the well-being of students is the district’s top priority.

The district could not provide additional details on the incident, citing privacy laws.

Police Respond to Incident at Brenham High School; No Threat to Students or Staff

BRENHAM, TX – February 7, 2024,

This morning, School Resource Officers (SROs) and local law enforcement responded swiftly to an incident involving a student engaged in disorderly conduct on the property of the Brenham High School campus. Officers immediately took action, apprehending the individual without incident.

At no time were students or staff in danger, and the situation was quickly brought under control. Out of an abundance of caution, additional law enforcement was present to ensure the continued safety of our students and staff.

We are grateful for the rapid response and professionalism of our SROs and the Brenham Police Department. Their dedication to keeping our schools safe is deeply appreciated.
